HIGH REPORT.
The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows } —. The hemp market is depressed. Reports from Manila indicate that dealers are holding for. better prices. The demand for ’spot Manila is good at ; OctoberDecember ss. The outpnt for the week was 15,000 bales. The New Zealand market continues dull in sympathy with Manila. Good fair, ; fair, ,£25 ios; October-December good fair Business has been done in fair this week at £25 53, but sellers are asking ,£25 10s. The sisal market is depressed owing to the disturbed political situation in Mexico at present. The tendency is downwards. Price, New York, 524 cents, which is equal to c.i.f. Europe.
