FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Foxtou Lawn Tennis Club was held in Mr Walls’ rooms on Tuesday, the 9th inst. In the absence ot the President (.Mr A. J. Gibbs), Dr. Mandl took the chair.

The annual report and balancesheet was read and adopted and the following officers elected : Patron, Mr Frankland ; President, Mr G. H. Stiles ; Vice-Presidents, Messrs Gibbs, Hornblow, O. Robinson and Dr. Mandl. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Chas. Simmons ; Auditor, Mr G. Lyon ; Committee, Messrs Phillips, Betty, Gabites, Fraser and Furrie, Misses Stacpoole, Honor e, McHardie, Mesdames Phillips and Lyon ; Match Committee, Messrs Phillips, Jackson and Gabites.

It was decided to raise the ladies subscription to the original amount 10s 6d, and also that the Club continue to supply balls as was done last year. It was pointed out that the cost last season was 7s, being roughly 2s 6d per member. Arrangements in connection with the supplying of afternoon tea at the courts wdre left to the the ladies committee. It was decided to ask Mr C. Burgess to act as coach to the new players. The following new members were elected:—Messrs N. Bryant, V. Betty, Hore and Barr, Misses E. Robinson, Maroni, Bryant, McKendry and Ross, Mesdames Lyon, Hore, Barr. The opening day was fixed for Wednesday, the 24th inst.
