A LONELY DEATH.

Dunedin, Sept. 5.

Early on Tuesday morning while proceeding to work, a sawmill hand named Robert Poultney, discovered the body of a woman lying dead between some scrub on the Horipapa Road, Gatlins. Investigation proved that it was the body of Mrs Wm. Johnston, of Horipapa. On the previous evening Mrs Johnston was canvassing in aid of church funds and on making her way homesheevidently had fainted and succumbed.

At the inquest a verdict was returned that death had been the result ol exposure caused by a tainting fit rendering the deceased incapable of getting assistance.
