WEDDING.

A wedding of great interest in the district was celebrated in the Glen Orotta Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, July 3 w^en Mr E. A. Mitchell, third son of Mr A. W. Mitchell, of Chatham Islaqd, was united in matrimony to Miss Jane Wilson Young, eldest daughter of Mr Duncan Young of Kaimatari. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. M. Thomson, M.A. of Foxton, and the little church, which was prettily decorated for the occasion, was filled to the doors. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in an ivory siik musselline with guipure lace and pearls, silk net veil and orange blossoms. She carried a handsome bouquet of freezias, jonquils, and maidenhair. She was attended by her two sisters, Misses Margaret and Nellie, who were dressed in white silk with white silk insertion and over lace, grey picture hats with wreaths of pink satin roses. The mother of the bride was becomingly attired in black silk striped voile with silk trimmings. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Duncan Young jun. After the ceremony a long procession of vehicles wended their way to Kaimatarai, the residence of the bride’s parents, where a sumptuous breakfast was partaken of by the very large assemblage of friends. The toast list was iu charge of theFev. J. M. Thomson, (bride and bridegroom), Mr Hamlin, jun., (bridesmaids), Mr Amon, (bride’s parents), and Mr Hamlin sea., (the ladies), and were enthusiastically honoured and suitably responded to. The numerous wedding presents set out made an exceptionally rich show and testified to the very high esteem in which the bide was held in the district. The young couple were closely shepherded and very thoroughly dealt with on their way to the motor car, by which, amid the hearty congratulations of all preseht, they left for Palmerston eh route for Gisborne, where the honeymoon is to be spent.
