HAYWARD’S PICTURES,
A DOUBLE ATTRACTION.
There will be a double attraction at “The Royal” to night and Monday night, when Professor Braemar, master hypnotist, will pay a return visit to Foxton. On Monday night the Professor’s performance will be supplemented by a vivid and powerful V;tagraph story, entitled “ Six
o’Clock,” featuring the popuar actor, Maurice Costello. This picture is a magnificent and thrilling dramatic effort and tels the story of the loss and recover/’ of a firm’s business speculations. Another attraction will be i dramatic novelty, with a strong motif, entitled “God of Gold.” Its plot has the freeness and force of a single inspiration and a peculiarly happy one. Seats may be booked at Mrs Hamer’s.
“THE DANDIES.” On Tuesday next at the Town Hall, Mr Edward Brauscombe’s New English Costume Company, “ The Dandies,” will make their first appearance in F'oxtou. This Company of entertainers who are spoken of as being in no way interior to the Company of Dandies who appeared here so successfully a few week ago, and are in a sense the sprightliest and most musical of the five different companies under Mr Branscomb’s control. One of the most popular members of the combination is already well-known in New Zealand. This is Mr Ford Waltham whose connection with the Scarlet Troubadours so popularised him with thousands of folk that in his case “ familiarity can only breed content,” Of the others, the leading comedian, Mr Athol Tier, is reported to bean artist of great versatility and dash. Misses Lily and Rita Fitzgerald and Peggy Ross • are cornmedians and vocalists who it is claimed have been established favourites wherever they have appeared. The box plan is at the Town Clerk’s office.
SKATING.
The municipal skating rink will be open for two sessions next week, Monday and Thursday. Hockey practice will be held for selected teams ou each evening from 7 Jo 7.30, then general skating will follow. During the week a final date will be fixed for the carnival, when special prizes will be given for all events. A full baud will play duriug the evening and spectators will be admitted to the dress circle for the small sum of sixpence.
