Wll E K E A S certain places situated in Wellington, Auckland, and Hawkes’ Bay Health Districts are, or are supposed to be, infected with a dangerous infectious disease, to* wit Small-pox, AND WHEREAS the said disease is specially prevalent amongst the Maoris and half-caste Maoris residing in the said districts, Now therefore I, Thomas Harcourt Ambrose Valintine, Chid Health Officer under the Public Health Act, I Bqß, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by Section 18 of the said Act, and acting under the authority of His Excellency the Governor ol New Zealand, do hereby until lurlher j notice forbid Maoris or ludi-castc Maoris to be brought by means ol the New Zealand Government Railways from any place situated within the Auckland, Wellington and Hawkes’ Bay Districts, to any other place situated within any ol the said Districts or from any place situated in the said Auckland, Wellington or HawkesMlay Health Districts to any other place in New Zealand unless such Maori or half-castc Maori produces a certificate under the hand of an officer of the Public Health Department or under the hand of a Public Vaccinator authorising him or her to travel upon the said Railways.
