The Manawatu Herald. Tuesday, July Bth., 1913. NOTES AND COMMENTS.
In the House on Friday, the member for Otaki asked whether the Minister for Defence really believed that the defence system was firmly established. “As a fact,” be added, “ disapproval of the system and discontent of its operation was spreading throughout the country.’’ Putting aside other parts of the country and speaking in respect to his own constituency, we say unhesitatingly that the system is firmly and |favourably established in the Otaki electorate, and further, that our young men on the whole are loyally and cheerfully conforming to the requirements of the Act.
