S.M. COURT RETURNS.
The following are the returns of business transacted at the local S.M. Court for the quarter ended June 30th, 1913: —There were three sittings presided over by the S.M., and thirteen by justices. Civil. —Amounts sued for i/353 5s gd, amounts received! ,£238 12s 3d, applications heard in chambers x, plaints entered 31, distress warrants 4, judgment summonses 10, orders on judgment summonses 4, summonses served by bailiff warrants executed S, civil fees £l6 15s. Criminal.—Arrested or summoned 25 males 1 female, withdrawn x, dismissed 3; fined 13, imprisoned in lieu of fine 1, imprisoned without fine 2, orders made 2, convicted and discharged 4, fines collected £lO 1 os, fees 14s. One old age pension was granted.
