LEVIN-WANDERERS v. HUI MAI. This game was played at Levin, and proved an interesting and fast contest trom beginning to end. On form it looked any odds on Hui Mai, but Levin had trained and they forced the pace from the start and at the call of time were victorious by a margin of seven points. Mr Thompson was referee. During the game one regrettable incident occurred when the referee was obliged to order R. George, of the Hui Mai team, off the field for disputing his decisions. TAINUI v. FOXTON. The above teams met on the Levin recreation ground. The game, after the first lew minutes, proved very poor, Tainui having all the best of the matter. From the kick-off the Foxton forwards carried play into Talnui’s 25, and after a while Franklin got possession and dived over, registering Foxton’s first try. The kick at goal failed. From the drop-out Foxton again came with a rush and carried play to Tainui’s line, where Franklin again got over. The kick at goal failed. This state of affairs evidently woke the Otaki men up and they at once took a hand at attacking, and in a short time McKenzie crossed the line. The attempt at goal was a failure. Directly after the kickoff, Tainui again attacked and McKenzie again scored behind the posts. Pirimi added the major points. Give and take play then ensued, and play was shifted from one end of the field to the other. At last Tainui’s backs got going and Wilson secured and scored a pretty try. The shot at goal was unsuccessful. After the kick-off play was in mid-field for a while, and Wilson eventually gaining possession made a splendid run and again scored in a good position. The kick at goal failed. Shortly before the call of time L. Griffiths scored near the posts. A. Bevan added the major points. The whistle was shortly after blown for time, leaving Tainui victorious by 19 points to 6. Mr Eccleton had command of the game.
KIMBERLEY v. KOPUTAROA.
This match was played at Koputaroa, and resulted m a win for the visitors. The match itself was a poor display of rugby, Kimberley bolding the advantage throughout. Wheu the whistle sounded no-side the scores were ; Kimberley 15 —Koputaroa o. Mr J. Smith refereed.
