(Own Correspondent)
In response to an invitation from Mr and Mrs Saunders, a large number of people gathered at “Elm Grove’’ on Friday evening, and spent an enjoyable time. A number of competitions were arranged and the following were the prize winners: Miss R. Knowles, Miss P. Gunning and Miss Dunkley. Miss McHardy, of Foxton, woo the prize for the largest number, ot names from the word Constantinople, by a very large majority. Musical and instrumental items were given by several ladies and gentlemen, then followed a delightful supper, after which the Rev. A. J. McKenzie thanked Mr and Mrs Saunders and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne’’ brought a most enjoyable evening to a close.
