POSTER BALL.
• Mrs Johnston gave a very enjoyable “poster” ball in the Masonic Hall op Tuesday night l&t. Some ot the dresses were both novel and pretty. Mrs : Healey received the popular verdict for her representation of the ‘ * gas works’ ’ and Mr Ken. Furrie, “ Mr Pips ” for lady’s and gentleman’s prizes respectively. Two dresses, which call for special mention, however, were those worn by Mrs Teviotdale as “The Rope Works,” a very cleverly executed work ot art, and Miss Hilda Cook as .the Manawatu Herald.
