FOOTBALL.

SATURDAY’S RESULTS. Skniors. Kimberley (3) v. Foxton (o). Levin-W., (n) v. Shannon (9). Juniors. Weraroa (6) v. Shannon (3). Football enthusiasts are promised a really fine exhibition of rugby ou Saturday next, when the representative teams of Horowhenua and Rangitikei will meet on the local racecourse. This is the first "rep” match to be played in Foxton, but it is hoped that it will not be the last. The local public have supported the championship matches that have been played here very wdi, a.ji it was principally due to this support that the local representative on the Horowhenua Rugby Union, Mr D. Green, was successful in getting the Union to agree to give Foxton this match. It is to be hoped, therefore, that there will be a record attendance as the expenses in connection with the game will be heavier than if it were being played, in Levin, which is the headquarters of the Union. The game will commence punctually at 3 o’clock and the price of admission is one shilling.

The following team will represent Horow henna against Rangitikei on the racecourse on Saturday ; Guddings T. Winiata J. Martin D. Wilson N. Winiata H. Rawiri R. McDonald Lower Kehu Burrows , W. Winiata Hilson Freyberg Malcolm Reid Emer., forward, F. Bartholomew, back, Pirimi. The local seniors travelled to Levin on Saturday and played Kimberley. The game was mostly a forward one and was stubbornly fought out, ending in a win for Kimberley by 3 points (a penalty goal) to nil. On Saturday the local juniors were to have played Hui Mai on the racecourse, but through some misunderstanding they failed to put in an appearance. This match, it is understood, will be played at a later date.
