The Rev. D. C. Bates wires today as follows ; Easterly moderate to strong winds prevailing weather pro bably cold' and changeable, misty at times ; the night will probably be very cold with frosts inland ; barometer unsteady, but has a rising tendency. Sea moderate ; tides poor.
