RIFLE SHOOTING.
A few members were noticed having a practice shoot on the local range yesterday. Evidently they were getting their eye in for the next competition, which starts on Saturday next, continuing for the following, three Wednesdays and two Saturdays. The conditions lor the next shoot are 10 shots each at 500 and 6ooyds„ the best aggregate wins. This will be a handicap match, and since the trophy will be well worth winning, it is to be hoped the members will turn up in full force. The entry fee for this match will be one shilling payable at time of entry. The President and the Secretary have been putting in a few hours getting the targets, etc., ready for a start next Saturday, Arrangements are now well forward and all that is necessary is for member* to pay their fee and start right away. It will be necessary for shooting to commence at two o’clock sharp as the light fades very quickly from four to halfpast. It is on this account that the ten shot conditions were made as it saves time both in shooting and in changing targets.
