THE HEMP INDUSTRY.
VISIT BY DEPARTMENTAL ' OFFICERS.
Messrs Pope and Duncan, of the Agricultural Department, paid a visit to this district yesterday, with the object of getting an insight into the practical side of the flaxmilling industry. They inspected all the mills and made careful inquiries into details. They expressed surprise, at the splendid accommodation provided for the employees at the Poplar mill. It is the intention of the officers to pay a return visit when the flax areas will be visited, and the royalty question investigated.
