THE INDRABARAH.
In conversation with Captain Manly the other day in respect to the stranded Indrabarah, we asked what he thought of the prospects of refloating the vessel. The experienced skipper referred to the number of experts employed and consulted and the diversity of opinions and methods expressed by them. “There is one man,” said the skipper, “who, if given an absolutely free hand, could get the Indrabarah out of her perilous position and.that, man is Captain Harvey.” Captain Manly then gave bis reasons in support of snch statement. He said also that he did not think, there were any .mushroom anchors large enough in the Dominion to stand the gradual strain which was the only hope of easing the vessel out. The stranded vessel has now made a bed for herself in the sand and is firmly embedded, moving neither with the sea nor with the tide. She is making no water, attd those on board her are not at all in an uncomfortable position. The question has been mooted bf lighters taking the cargo out of the stranded vessel, but the general opinion seems to be that there is no possibility of lighters being able to get alongside the Indrabarah in her present position.
4 ! Captain Watchlin, of the tug Terawhiti, which has been engaged in salvaging operations, expresses the opinion that refloating operations will be successful.
