The Mayor to be Chairman of all committees and each committee to report to the Council at least once every three months. The mover and seconder spoke in support of the motion, and the Mayor and Crs Freeman, Coley, Henderson, Read, Chrystall and Barber opposed it on the ground it was advisable to have larger committees. The motion on being put was lost. The following committees were then set up on the motion of the Mayor, seconded by Cr Barber: PUBLIC WORKS The Mayor and Crs Coley, Speirs Chrystall, Whibley and Henderson. LIBRARY The Mayor and Crs Barber, Freeman, Chrystall and Read. reserves The Mayor and Crs Read, Green, Coley, Barber and Freeman. GAS WORKS The Mayor and Crs Coley, Chrystall, Speirs, Whibley and Henderson,
