FOUND DEAD IN BED.

ENGINEER OF s.s KENNEDY.

When the s.s. Kennedy was out four hours from Grey mouth yesterday on her way to Foxton, on going to call the engineer, Mr Barnett, he was found dead in his bunk. The Kennedy put into Nelson and the body was taken ashore and afterwards placed on the s.s. Alexandra which sailed for Wellington. The Kennedy left Nelson again for Foxton at 12 o’clock last night. The late Mr Barnett leaves a widow and two children in Wellington. He had been engineer of the Kennedy for some time past, and prior to that was ou the s.s. Alexandra.
