FOOTBALL.
The senior and junior competitions, under the auspices of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, will be commenced on Saturday next. The seniors have been drawn to meet Tainui at Levin, and the juniors will' play Koputaroa on the local ground. The following senior team has been selected ; —W. Robinson, E. Martin, Mansell, Reid, Wickham, Haeana, Withers, Coley, W. Cook, Rore, Shamrock, Carter, Frankland, Joe and Mulgrave. Emergency, Woods. The team will leave Whyte’s Hotel for Levin at 1 o’clock.
The junior team will be selected from the following: Gascoigne, Spring, Irwin, M. and J. O’Reilly. F. and R. Robinson, Edlin, Howe, Pira, Tauraaranui, Burnett, Sam, Morgan, Watson and Meyer. The players are requested to be on the ground not later than 2.30 p.m.
