My long and extensive business experience should make my services on the Board of some value to the district. The fact that I am personally largely interested in sheep farming should satisfy County electors that this most important industry, which in the past has had no direct representative on the Board, will receive careful attention at my hards, should Ibe again returned. As the electoral district is very extensive, extending from Waikanae in the south to the Rangifikeijaver in the north, it seems a fair arrangement that one member should be resident in the southern end, and the other in the northern end. Consequently I feel confident that the generous support which I received two years ago from Palmerston NoLh, Levin, Foxton and other southern centres will be accorded me upon this occasion. WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD ELECTIONS. Ladies & gentlemen.—i beg to offer myself as a candidate for one ot the two seats in the Manawatu electorate at the forthcoming elections of the Wellington Harbour Board. In offering my services, I may state that I have been a resident in the Manawatu district for the past eighteen years, and have always taken a keen interest in public affairs. This is my second year of office as president of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce, and previously I was vice-president for two j r ears. I have a personal knowledge of all matters relating to the export of wool, frozen meat and other produce, and am well acquainted with the requirements of importers. It will be ray earnest endeavour, if elected, to see that the interests ot the farmers and exporters, together with those of the business community in the Manawatu, receive that attention on the Wellington Harbour Board to which they are entitled. It is felt in a good many quarters that a change in the personnel of the Board is desirable, hence I have been asked to contest the election. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE BOROUGH OF FOXTON. "| RADIES & GENTLEMEN,— We, the undersigned, respectfully offer ourselves as candidates for your suffrages at the forthcoming election of Councillors to the Borough. Although representatives of the industrial workers of the community, we shall unitedly strive for *he common weal, and will endeavour to initiate a new and progressive policyin accordance with the best interests of the Borough, Should we be elected as Borough Administrators, we shall, during our term of office, give our most con sistent support to the policy of our Party, yhich shall be as follows (1) The raising of a £25,000 loan at a rate of'interest not higher than 5 per cent. (2) A healthful and permanent water supply, with a complete and effective drainage system. (3) A systematical campaign in cooperation with other Bodies for the purpose of bringing the local wharf under the control of the Foxton Harbour Board. (4) Giving our best favour and support to the proposed Tramway extension from Sandon and the linking up from Levin to Marton or Greatford. (5) Proper care and attention to the streets and footpaths, the periodical tarring of Main Street, and the erection of sanitary conveniences, water trough and tap at some suitable site therein. (6) The establishment (if empowered by statutory law) of Municipal coal yards. (7) Proper supervision of the Municipal Gas Works, better lighting for the streets, with an extension of the system, and added facilities for household use. (8) Reduction of Municipal picture prices, introducing better films, and other minor improvements. (9) Rigid inspection of the Borough accounts, with an effort to curtail unproductive expenditure.
