A meeting of twenty thousand persons discussed the Californian Land Bill. Fiery orations were delivered. Mr Matsmnaru, a member ot the Diet, urged the dispatch of the fleet. Others recommended that the questions between Japan and America be settled once and lor all. Otherwise, if they recur, they will lead to yvar. It the Bill passes Japan will apply to the United States Federal Government for permission for the Japanese to become naturalised throughout America.
CONFERENCE WITH JAPANESE AMBASSADOR. Washington, April 20. President Wilson has decided to defer action on the Californian Aliens Land Bill pending the passage of a measure through the Slate Legislature.
