AFTER 14 YEARS FAITHFUL

SERVICE. It will come as a shock to rateoayers to learn that Mr Alf. Fraser has tendered his resignation to the Mayor as Town Clerk and Borough Treasurer, and all the various offices held by him under the Council. He has asked to be relieved of his duties as from May 31st next. In a letter to the Mayor, Mr Fraser says: “It is with a sincere feeling of regret that I take this step after fourteen years’ service, but I vacate office with the satisfaction of knowing that I have always done what I have believed to be my duty, to the test of my ability, and without fear or favour. I beg to tender to you, sir, my thanks-for the courtesy and assistance I have always received from you during your term of office.”
