FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL. Pursuant to section 7 of “The Local Elections and Polls Act, 1910,” and section 19 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” I HEREBY give notice that an election will h'* held on Wed* nesday, the 30th ’-■ N ril, 1913> for the purpose of eie ‘.lag a Mayor and nine Councillors for the Borough of Foxton, and I hereby appoint the Town Clerk’s Office, Main Street, as the place, and Tuesday, the 22nd day of April, 1913. WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD ELECTIONS. Ladies & gentlemen.—; beg to offer myself as a candidate for one ot the two seats in the Manawatu electorate at > the forthcoming elections of the Wellington Harbour Board. In offering my services, 1 may state that I have been a resident in the Manawatu district for the past eighteen years, and have always taken a keep in* terest in public affairs. This is my second year of office as president of ■ the Palmerston North Chamber of 1 Commerce, and previously I was vice-president for two years, I have a personal knowledge of all matters relating to the.export of wool, frozen meat and other produce, and am well acquainted with the requirements of importers. It will be my earnest endeavour, if elected, to see that the interests ot the farmers and exporters, together with those of the business community in the Manawatu, receive that attention on the Wellington Harbour Board to which they are entitled. It is felt in a good many quarters that a change in the personnel of the Board is desirable, hence I have been asked to contest the election. This will be held on the 30th April, when I trust I shall receive your support. Yours faithtully, M. A. ELIOTT. HARBOUR BOARD ELECTIONS. To the Electors of the Wellington Harbour Board District. LADIES & GENTLEMEN.— I am a candidate for re-election as one of the Manawatu representatives on the Wellington Harbour Board. I have been a member ot the Board for the past two years ; during that time I have been regular in my attendance at its' meetings, and have endeavoured to discharge the duties pertaining to the position of member, to the best of my abilities, especially with regard to, the interests of this district, My long and extensive business experience should make my services on the Board of some value to the district. The fact that I am personally largely interested in sheep farming should satisfy County electors that this most important industry, which in the past has had no direct representative on the Board, will receive careful attention at my • hards, should Ibe again returned. As the electoral district is very extensive, extending, from Waikanae in the south to the Rangitikei river in the north, it seems a fair arrangement j that one member should be resident I in the southern end, and the other in the northern end. Consequently I feel confident that the generous support which I received two years ago from Palmerston North, Levin, Foxton and other southern centres will be accorded me upon this occasion. Should you again honour me with your confidence, 1 will endeavour to discharge my duties as your representative as I have done during the past two years.—l am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Obedient Servant, JOHN G.
