WANDERING STOCK.
A GREAT NUISANCE. The amount of stock that is continually on the borough roads is creating a great nuisance and complaints of damage done to gardens are many. At Monday night's meeting Cr Adams brought this matter before the Council, saying that if the owners of the stock complained of would do nothing to abate the nuisance, then in the interests of the citizens whose property was being damaged, the Council would have to take some action. The Municipal Corporations Act gave power to a Borough Council to prohibit the keeping of stock within a certain area, and, although it was not suggested that such stringent action should be taken, he thought the owners of the stock complained of should take steps to see that their stock was not allowed to roam at large. If they would not do this then the Council would have to consider what action should be taken.
