HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A well-attended committee meet-

j ing, of the above was held last T night, presided over by Mr Speirs, to receive the secretary’s statement as to the result of the Autumn Show and to pass accounts. The statement disclosed that the receipts totalled £3B 9s id, and the expenditure £4O 8s 2d, leaving a debit balance of £1 19s id. The secretary presented a comparative statement of past shows. The number of entries for the two days show, 1912, was 432 as against 566 for the one day show of this year, while the receipts for this year were in excess of those for the last year. After discussing other minor ' matters the meeting rose.
