FOXTON GUN CLUB.
A meeting of members of the Foxton Gun Club was held in the Manawatu Hotel last night. There was a good attendance, and Mr \ ork occupied the chair. Correspondence was read from the New Zealand Gun Association forwarding copy of rules and information in connection with affiliation, and from the secretary of the Foxton Racing Club, granting permission tor the club to hold clay pigeon shooting matches on the racecourse.
Mr S< Messena was appointed as the club’s handicapper. The openiuing day was fixed for Good Friday, when the Mayor will fire the first shot. Arrangements in connection with this function were made and it is anticipated that an enjoyable afternoon will be spent. The programme will include a match between teams selected by the President and Vice-President, besides sweepstakes, etc. The public will be invited to attend. It was announced that trophies for competition had been offered by Messrs D. Green, R. T. Betty, C. Simmons, R. M. Parkes and G. H. Stiles.
Several accounts were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
