CRICKET.

A cricket match was played on the Victoria Park pitch on Saturday afternoon between teams representing Moutoa and Whitaunui Limited. The game was a very interesting one, resulting in a win for Moutoa by the narrow margin of one run. The Moutoa teams score was 85, of which Redgrave contributed 65, and Whitaunui failed to reach this score by one run. Butterworth was the top scorer for Whitaunui with 36. The bowling on both sides was fairly good, Wickham (Whitaunui), and Redgrave (Moutoa) doing the hat trick. At the conclusion of the game the teams sat down to dinner at the Manawatu Hotel, the bill for which was footed by theWhitaunuites. A most sociable time was spent.
