CENTENARIANS.
LIST OF ANCIENTS WHO DIED IN 1912.
A carefully compiled list of the centenarians who died during the past year is given by the livening Standard. It will be noticed that several of the women exceeded the century by a considerable number of years. The list is as follows - Miss Martha Whittaker, who lived in a village iu County Donegal, died within nine days of her noth birthday. Mr Lewis Lyons, an uncle of Sir Joseph Lyons, aged 100. . The Rev H. M. Sherwood, of Bershore, Worcester, in his hundredth year. Michael Gannon, aged 103, of Bally Mahon, County Longford. Mrs Mary Larkin, at Borrisokane, County Tipperary, aged no.
Patience Smith, a gipsy, at Leeds, aged 103. Miss Milton, as Hastings, in her 102nd year. Mrs Adams, said to have been the oldest pit woman in the country, Dalkeith, near Edinburgh, in her 100th year. Mr John Wilson, a naval pensioner, at Bnxhill, aged 102. Mrs Dinah Sumpter, in her 102nd year. She had lived in the village of Colkirk, Suffolk, all her life, and only had been away for a fortnight’s holiday once. Bridget Coughlin, at Pontefract Workhouse Infirmary, 103. Mrs Louisa Wilshere, of Hitchin, at Cambridge, in her 100th year.
Mr John Lamb, too, He was the oldest voter in the Spalding Division of Lincolnshire.
