FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.

A special meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board was held at Palmerston North yesterday for the purpose of discussing further steps to be taken in connection with the proposed purchase of the wharf. There were present : —Messrs Heuuessy (chairman), Gibbs, Nash, Gardener and Harford. An apology for absence was received from Mr Barber. It was decided on the motion of Mr Gibbs, seconded by Mr Harford, that the Chairman and Messrs Nash and Gardener be a deputation to wait on the Minister for Railways and get details as to how the value of the wharf is made up; also to endeavour to arrange for the Public Works Department to furnish a report on condition and life of the wharf, and that the deputation be autho • rised to make any further arrangements in furtherance of the business they have in hand.
