ALLEGED BREACH OF MOTOR REGULATIONS.
CASK DISMISSED.
Mr J. W. Poynton, S.M., gave his decision on Tuesday in connection with the charge by the police against F. S. Kaston for an alleged breach of the motor regulations by driving his motor car at night without lights. The case was heard at the last local sitting of the Court when the Magistrate reserved his decision in order to look into some points raised by Mr Cooper. In the decision given on Tuesday, he dismisses the case on the grounds that there was no evidence to prove that the weight of the car did not exceed three tons, as prescribed by the Act. He states that he did not expect the cars to be weighed in such cases but at the same time there should be some evidence given as to the weight.
