INCREASED GOODSHED ACCOMMODATION WANTED.

Among -other matters to be brought under the notice of the Minister for Railways to-day will be the necessity for increased goodshed accommodation. The present accommodation is absolutely inadequate, and time and again it has been found necessary to store goods in privately-owned buildings. The matter has been previously brought under the notice of the department, but nothing has been done to alter the existing state of things. To leave goods lying about the wharf at all hours puts a premium on pilfering apart from other serious drawbacks to persons who have merchandise in transport. We hope, as a result of the Minister’s investigations, that increased accommodation will be provided.
