MINISTERIAL VISIT TO FOXTON.

The Hon, Mr Herries, Minister for Railways, wiil visit Fpxton on Thursday next, arriving by the 1.30 p.m. train from Palmerston N. . He-will remain in Foxton all night and proceed to Sandon by special train on Friday morning. The object of the Minister’s visit is to confer with the Harbour Board in respect to the purchase of the wharf, etc., and to inspect the proposed tram extension from Sandon to Marton.

A special meeting of the Borough Council will be held this evening- to discuss the Harbour Board’s communication in respect to receiving the Minister. Representatives of the Levin and Palmerston Chambers of Commerce will act in concert with the Harbour Board and Borough Council.

Arrangements will be made to Si;it»bly entertain the Minister.
