Waxroa, Jan. 24

At an inquest on the body of Councillor M’Jntyre, found in the Morere Bush on Wednesday last, the evidence showed that deceased had gone into the gully to fire logs, aud in passing «nder a halfburnt rimu branch it fell, striking him on the head. Death was probably instantaneous, sparing deceased the agonies of the burning of the lower part of his body, while pinned down. The funeral was attended by members and officials of local bodies in the district.
