CONCERT.
Miss Thelma Peterseu gave one of her concerts in the Town Hall last night. The object of the concert was to give local people an opportunity of hearing Miss Petersen, the talented young New Zealand vocalist, who is to proceed to London next month for the purpose of prosecuting her studies. This young lady possesses a very rich contralio of wide range, and her items were very soulfully interpreted. Her items were, “Summer Night,” “Three Fishers,” and “Sooth Sayer Marguerette,” all of which were enthusiastically received, and encores demanded. Miss Edna Stuart contributed two pianoforte selections by Chopin and Schubert, which were much appreciated. Other contributors to the programme were Mrs Hall, Misses Signal and McDonald, Messrs W. Cook, Hornblow, Buglass and Yates. The accompaniments were played by Misses Stuart, Jeuks and McDonald.
Miss Peterseu is giving a concert at the Beach to-morrow night.
