THE SNEAK THIEF.
The amount of thieving reported locally, unless checked, will result in Foxton gaining an unenviable notoriety. It is a pity we have in our midst certain individuals who resort to this sort of thing, and we hope that a capture will yet beeffected, andan example made of the night prowlers. Thefts of poultry and vegetables are of common occurrence- The night before last a sneak thief turned his attention to the school garden plots, and gathered some choice vegetables which were being reserved for show purposes. This is playing it very low down on the kiddies, who take such a pride in their school garden work. We are informed also that considerable thefts are committed in and about the wharf, and from the rear of business premises. We hope these moonlighters will yet fall Into a trap, and that they will reap the just reward of their wrongdoing.
