A BABY WANDERER.
Marian Willis, two years of age, who was reported as missing from 23 Ashmore Street, Erskineville, Sydney, has been found. She strayed away on a Monday afternoon, and although a search party was out all night she could not be found nor could any information be obtained about her. Next afternoon a resident of Redfern was surprised to see a forlorn figure climbing painfully up the steps to her house, and calling, "Me want mummy. Me hungry." The child was carried inside, and at once made itself at home in the new surroundings. In the meantime the search was persevered with and by degrees the child was traced to a spot in Redfern, quite two miles from Ashmore Street. The wanderer was eventually found, just as the woman who had taken charge of it was leaving her house to give information to the police. Wonder is expressed that a two-year-old baby could ramble the streets of such densely-populated suburbs without attracting attention and without coming to any harm. The child, apparently, was not affected by her experience, and appeared to have had a comfortable sleeping place on Monday night, judging from her fresh appearance when found.
