MOTOR ACCIDENT.

Mr G. N. Engels, of Shannon, met with a serious accident on Tuesday afternoon. He was returning home from Palmerston in his motor car and in rounding a bend at the top of the hill about four miles from Shannon the steering gear apparently went amiss and the car went over an embankment, falling some 20 feet, where it was caught by a blue gum tree, Mr Engels falling underneath the car. A passer-by took the sufferer into Shannon and medical aid was telephoned for. His Injuries include a broken bone in the leg and one of bis ears was almost severed, it being necessary to put fouiteeu stitches in it. He was also very severely bruised. From inquiries made since we learn that he is now progressing satisfactorily.
