WEDDING.

MARTIN-READ.

A very pretty, though quiet wedding was celebrated yesterday at the residence of Mr and Mrs S. Read, Norbiton Road, Foxton, when their only daughter, Olive Violetta, was uuited in the bonds ot holy matrimony to Mr William Henry Martin, of Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. T. Coatsworth. The bride (who was given away by her father) looked charming ,’iu a silver grey lustre, trimmed with gold figured net, with ruchiug, girdle aud orange blossoms. She slso wore a dainty while hat trimmed with pale pink roses. Miss Hilda Olsen, of Hawke’s Bay, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a pretty pale blue satin striped voile, with a large black picture hat to match. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold necklet and pendant, aud to the bridesmaid a gold mounted greeustone brooch. Mr Percy Read (brother of the bride) officiated as best man, and Mr Victor Read as groomsman. After the ceremony the guests partook of a sumptuous breakfast, when the usual toasts were duly honoured. The happy couple, after recei-.-ig the “well wishes” of all present, left by coach, via Levin, for their new home in-Khandallah. Upon their leaving here they were the recipients of showers of rice and confetti,
