MASTERTON SUICIDE.
Mr N. D. Bunting, secretary of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, was found dead in the Board’s strong-room ou Tuesday afternoon. He bad shot himself in the heart with a gun. A note in deceased’s writing stated “Forgive and forget an unworthy and tortured soul. Good-bye.” At the inquest deceased’s sister said he had been much worried by “wicked baseless rumours” circulated against him. The Coroner’s verdict was “suicide while temporarily insane.”
Mr Bunting was forty-one years of age. For some years he was a teacher at the Mastertou District High School, and resigned to take service with the Hospital Board.
