CORRESPONDENCE.
(To tuk Eoitor.)
Sir, — Some time ago the Borough Council made a by-law increasing the brick area in a congested part of the town as a safeguard against further outbreaks of fire. How is it, sir, that a building is being erected in wood contiguous to a block of woodeu buildings, practically in the heart of the town ? Who is to blame lor this, and what are the Mayor and Councillors thinking about to allow such structure to go on without issuing an injunction ? I have no feeling in the matter beyond the fact that if action were taken now it might in the future save the parties an expensive la v suit. By all means, sir, let us have as many buildings as possible, provided the proper safeguards for the protection of public property are imposed. I hope the Borough Council is not asleep.—l am, etc., SAFKTY.
