CRICKET.

On the Training Farm grounds on Saturday in the competition tor the Hall Shield, Shannon defeated Otaki by eight runs, the scores being, Shannon 43, Otaki 35. The postponed Training Farm v. Foxtou match, will be played on the Training Farm ground ou Saturday next and the FoxtonOtaki match will be played at Weraroa the following Saturday. Levin met the Training Farm ou Saturday afternoon in connection with the competitions tor the Hugh Hall shield. Neither team was at full strength. The Training Farm weut in first and made a poor display being all dismissed for 14, Lewin responded with 65. The fielding on bolh sides was fairly .good, though one or two easy chances iu the way of catches were missed.

The following fixtures have been drawn up for the second round of the competition : January 4. —Shannon v. Kimberley, at Shannon; Levin v, Foxton, at Levin ; Otaki a bye. January it. —• Kimberley v. Otaki, at Training Farm ; Foxton v. Shanuou, at Foxton ; Levin a bye.

January 18. Kimberley v. Leviu, at Training Farm; Shan non v. Otaki, at Training Farm ; Foxtou a bye.

January 25. —Foxton v. Ocaki, at Training Farm ; Levin v. Shannon, at Levin ; Kimberley a bye.

February 1. —Levin v. Otaki, at Levin ; Foxton v. Kimberley, at Foxton; Shannon a bye.
