HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
OPENS TO-MORROW
The local Horticultural Society’s Spring Show will be held in the Coronation Hall to-morrow and Thursday and will .be officially opened at 2.30 o’clock to-morrow afternoon by the President (Mr Alex. Speirs). General entries closed last night and from the number received it is anticipated that this year’s exhibition will be a record one. Up to last night, some 700 entries were received, and late entries will be received up to ten o’clock tomorrow morning.
The entries received this year are far in excess of those received at the last Spring Show, the total on that occasion being 540. All the classes, with the exception of sweet peas, are well represented, and the only thing now required to make the Show a record one iu the history of the Society is the attendance of the public and we feel sure that iu this connection there will be no room for complaint.
During the evening various competitions and numerous items for the entertainment of those present will be held.
