Owing to the action of the Federation of Labour calling out the tiaxmill employees for a twentytuur hours strike iu order to show their sympathy with the Waihi piisouers, lue Whuaucui mill was compel leu to close down on day. a number oi the em ployees, however, remained at home, and showed their sympathy by indulging iu a game ot cricket.

It may not be a perfect Act. It is quite possible for Acts to get on the Statute Book which are not all that could be desired.
