The following are the fixtures for the first round of the Horowhenua Cricket Association’s competition for the Hall Shield, at present held by Foxton: — November 2nd. Shannon v. Training Farm at Levin.

The Hall Shield, won by the Foxton Cricket Club in the Horowhenua Cricket Association’s competition last year, will be presented to the winners at a dinner and smoke concert to be held in the Manawatu Hotel to-morrow night. The function has been arranged by the local club, at the request of the Association, for the purpose ol officially banding over the trophy. Among the visitors, there will be representatives from Levin, Training Farm, Otaki aud Shannon Clubs, aud last year’s president ot the Association, Major Burlinson, Mr B, R. Gardener (Mayor of Levin), and Mr Hugh Hall, donor of the Shield.
