CRICKET.
HOROWHENUA ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeting of delegates to the Horowhentta Cricket Association was held at Levin yesterday afternoon. Mr Hggletou presided and representatives were present from Levin, Otaki, Shannon, Boston ana Training Farm The annual balance sheet, enclosing a credit balance c: :ue shilling, was read and adoptee. Mr R. S. Horn was unanimous'.;, re-elected secretary and treasurer for the ensuing year, and Levin was chosen as the headquarters of the Association. It was decided to start the championship matches on Saturday, November and, and the following fixtures for the first round were drawn up ; November 2ud. Boston v. Levin at Boston, Shannon v. Training Farm at the Training Farm, Otaki a bye.
November 9th. —Otaki v. Training Farm at Otaki, Levin v. Shannon at Levin, Foxton a bye. November 16th. Foxton v. Shannon at Shannon, Otaki v. Levin at Otaki, Training Farm a bye. It was decided to play two rounds in the competition. Major Burlinson, last year’s president, was absent on account of being confined to bis bed through injuries received in a trap accident, and a vote of sympathy was passed. It was also decided to have recorded on the minutes the Association’s appreciation of the good work done by Major Burlinson during the past year.
It was decided that the Shannon and Foxton Clubs matches with Otaki should be played at the Training Farm Clubs.
The time for the commencement of all Shield matches was fixed at 2 p.m., but travelling teams are to be allowed 45 minutes grace.
It was decided to affiliate with the New Zealand Cricket Association, the appointment «: a delegate to attend the annual meeting of the Association to be left over until a future meeting. Mr H. Hall was appointed as Foxtou’s representative on the Management Committee of the Association.
Messrs Redgrave (Foxtonj and Naughtou (Otaki) were elected a selection committee for all representatives matches.
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the,secretary and treasurer, Mr Horn, for his services during the past season and the meeting terminated.
