LONDON PIERROTS

The famous original London Peirrots will appear in the Coronation Hall to-night, when the theatre-going portion ol the town and district will have the opportunity of seeing one of the strongest and best combinations on tour in the Dominion. The management have secured all star artists, who have gained renown in other parts of the world, and since their arrival in New Zealand are drawing large and well satisfied audiences wherever they have appeared. The company is headed by the famous Tolstoi, the marvellous Japanese magician and illusionist, the weird, mystery, sensational illusions of this gentleman is said to be marvellous to all who have seen him. Chandos, the handcuff king, is also a member of this company who will appear and show his cleverness in the handcuff world. These two are supported by a strong company of Metropolitan artists. The whole production is staged with gorgeous scenery and effects. The prices of the box plan and day sales are as usual.

PICTURE SHOW. A real good programme is advertised tor to-morrow night. One of the dramas is a beautiful Indian subject, “Black Chasm,” a drama poetic in theme and resplendent in scenic beauties. Yellow Eagle, a young Indian Prince, is in love with Dark Feather, a beautiful Indian Princess, but belonging to different tribes her father is opposed to the match, and plights her to one Spotted Tail. She proudly denies his right to command, and m a moment of augei he stiikta i.s., instantly killing her. To hide his crime he places her body in a canoe, and sets 1: adrift in the rapids. Yellow Eagle sitting on the bank sees the canoe with its precious burden floating by, as in a dream he is drawn into the waters of the stream until they close over him, becoming as black as the raven’s wing, giving to them the name of the “Black Chasm.” Another thrilling drama is, “War’s Havoc,” a sensational and spectacular page from the history of the American Civil War. “Stenographer Wanted,” brisk, active comedy. Full of pretty girls, a funny old maid, and a pair of comical partners, who don’t get the stenographer they want, but have to take the old maid who is “Wished on Them” by their wives. Another highly amusing comedy is. “The Kidnapped Conductor,” the story ol how some girls punished a tram conductor, who would not wait for them one morning, causing them to be late for business and as a result were sacked. Many other good films.
