PICTURE SHOW. More good films for Saturday night. “ A Beast at Bay,” the story of a convict’s wild dash for liberty, in this picture is witnessed the most thrilling pursuit ever attempted, a race between an engine, a touring car and a racing auto. Another drama, “ The Telephone Girl,” the awful experience of a telephone girl, who sticks to her post in a burning building, until everybody gets out safely. She is rescued from the blazing factory by her sweetheart, a young fireman. “ The Banker’s Daughter,” a modern and thoroughly original drama. Dixon, the cashier, finds himself in difficulties because ot ill advised speculation. In the end becoming desperate he takes the bank’s funds during the night and makes 02, only to find the last train pulling out of the station. Stealing a motor he makes another dash, but is seen and another machine gives chase. All night th» race continues. Coming to' a lake Dixon jumps on an ice-boat, but the officer is close on his heels and an exciting ice yacht race follows. There are two topical films, oue a “ Pathe Gazette,” and the other a most interesting film of “ The Paris Motor Bandits.” A scenic, really fine is ” Famous Rivers” and a novelty film of “Paper Cuttings.” The funny element is good. “Won by a Fish” is a tip top story, and “Becky Gets a Husband.” This is a terrible tangle showing the difficulty in mixing a Jewish family with an Irish family.
