THE LATE GENERAL BOOTH.
GREAT MEMORIAL SERVICE.
London, August 29
Twenty thousand people attended the memorial service to General Booth in the Olympiad. Wreaths surrounded General Booth's portrait in tbe front of the platform. The King and Queen Alexandra were specially represented.
The Commonwealth of Australia was represented by Captaiu Collius. A flag which General Booth had unfurled preceded the coffin, which was borne on foot to the platform.
The chief mourners were Mr Bramwell Booth, his wife and Mrs Booth Heiberg, Misses Catheriue, Mary and Miriam Booth, and other relatives. The dominant features characterising the service was the joj'ous declaration that “God would triumph,” Songs of praise, prayers and scripture reading alternated impressively for two hours.
The remains were conveyed to the Army's headquarters to await the funeral.
