PRIVATE RAILWAYS.
Mr C. K. Wilson (Taumaruuui) asked the Government whether they would take into consideration the advisability ®f allowing, with proper safeguards, private capital to construct branch railways where the Government, through shortness ol tunds, were unable to construct such lines. The Hon. Mr Fraser (ivtinister of Public Works) replied that this was a question of policy which the '£<*' Government might have to take into consideration.
