SUNDAY HOCKEY.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —I have been reading the correspondence re Sunday hockey with interest. In your last issue, “A Player” says he considers it much better for the mind and body to romp (play hockey) on Sunday than to be in church listening to a dry-as-dust sermon. We will not think that “Player” is one of the small flock, but has been used to dry-as-dust sermons. My Bible says, “Keep holy the Sabbath Day.” Perhaps “Player’s” Bible is a more modern one, printed since hockey came into vogue. I presume he has one when he says “there are equally as good Christians as T. Coatsworth and his small flock.” I would also draw his atteutiou to another small verse : “Judge not that ye be not judged.” In conclusion, the reports were certainly published, but iu neither case was the day mentioned on which the game was played. I am, etc.,

Retired Player. Aug. 19th, 1912.
